                                              BARAN

Baran is known as the ancient Varaha Nagari. Banara is situated on the banks of Kalisindh, Parvati and Parvan rivers. Naming of Baran: In ancient times, there were 12 patches which were settled in Patak Nagar, which is called Banra. Other legends of nomenclature: In ancient times, twelve villages used to come under it, so this area was called Banra.

SHAHABAD FORT
The Siddha Shahabad Fort is very ancient on a small hill amidst forests. This fort built by Chauhan Vanshi Dhandhel Rajput Mukutmani Dev in 1521 is the strongest and finest fort in Hadoti. This fort surrounded by the Kundkoh litigants has 18 towers.Apart from these, this fort has topkhana, barudkhana and many temples. This fort is one of the major attractions in Baran district, which is surrounded by dense forests, plains and Kund Koh valley.

SHERGARH FORT


Shergarh Fort near Baran's Parban River is famous for its ancient Jain and Brahmin temples. Travelers will be able to see the stone statue of Koshvardhan built in this fort in 790 AD.It was named Shergarh after being captured by King Sher Shah of the Sur dynasty, before this fort was named Koshvardhan. Shergarh Fort, an inscription dated 790 AD, expresses rich history.

SHAHI JAMA MOSQUE

The Shahi Jama Masjid in Shahbad is 80 km from Baran. It was built during the reign of Aurangzeb, the emperor of the Mughal Sultanate.
The huge pillars and mehbs make this mosque very beautiful and attractive, which is seen by the tourists.

SHERGARH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Shergarh Wildlife Sanctuary is in Shergarh of Baran district. Spread over 98 sq km, this sanctuary provides shelter to many wildlife. The animal lovers will be able to see bears, lions, cheetahs, wild boar, chinkara, hyena, samba, chital and deer.
Shergarh Sanctuary is located in Shergarh village, about 65 km from Baran district. This sanctuary is rich in many flora and fauna as well as it is home to many endangered species of plants.                                   KAKUNI TEMPLE



Kakoni is only 85 km away from Chhulbarod Tehsil in Baran district. Situated on the banks of the Parwan River, this place is famous for its temples. Jain, Shiva and Vaishnava temples built in the 8th century have become ruins today. 60% idols of Kakoni temple are kept in Ajaybaghar of Kota and Jhalawar.The remains of the Bhimgarh Fort built by King Bhim Diyo are still present here. There are temples dedicated to Jain Vaishnava deities and Lord Shiva.

BRAHMANI MATA TEMPLE
There is a temple of Brahmani Mataji in Sorsan village, 20 km from Baran. In this temple built inside the ancient fort, there is a statue of the Brahmin mother, which is located in a cave under a big rock. It is said that the unbroken flame burning in the temple has been burning for the last 400 years. A huge fair is held here on the day of Shivratri and a large number of animals are sold.

MANIHAR MAHADEV TEMPLE


Manihar Mahadev Temple is an ancient temple built 3 km from Baran. The 600 year old statue of Mahadev and Hanuman is perfected in this temple. The pond near the temple and the natural beauty here enhance its beauty.The festival of Shivaratri is celebrated here with great pomp. The district administration here has entrusted the Jima institution to Dharmada to look after it.
KAPIL DHARA
Kapil Dhara, 50 km from Baran, is a famous picnic spot. It is a very beautiful place and the continuous water flowing from Gaumukh makes it an even better place.This famous waterfall and a Gaumukh flowing water here is a major center of tourist attraction.

BHAND DEVRA TEMPLE
Bhand Devra Temple is proven on the Ramgarh hill, 40 km from Baran. This temple, built in the 10th century, is situated on the banks of a small pond. This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is famous as "Khajuraho of Rajasthan". Today, this temple is under the Department of Archeology for renovation. There is a temple of Kisane and Annapurna Devi on this hill of Ramgarh.Siddhas reach this temple inside the cave, climbing 750 steps, these steps were built by King Jhala Jallim Singh. In the temple, a goddess is worshiped by climbing nuts and dry fruits, while the other goddess is offered meat and wine. Rise and fall A fair is held here every year on the day of Kartik Purnima, which is visited by thousands of devotees.

BILASGARAH
Bilasgarh is located in Kishangarh, 45 km from Baran. It was the principal place of rule of the Khechi kingdom, but was destroyed by the Mughal king Aurangzeb. Aurangzeb was fascinated by the princess of Khechi and sent his army to forcibly bring her.The Mughal army destroyed the entire city, in this agony, the princess jumped into the Bilasi river and gave her life. After this accident, this place came to be called Kanyadeh.

ASCETIC GARDEN
Tapaswi's Bagchi is a beautiful picnic spot in Shahabad district. Nestled among the mountains, this place is very attractive. The idol of Shiva Linga and Nadia is installed here. Pan was cultivated here, which is still practiced today. The major attraction of the rebel of the ascetics is the large idol of Shivling.

                                  SITA BARI

Sitabari is a famous place of worship which is located 45 km from Baran. Let us tell you that many tourists also visit this holy place of worship to make picnics. Many people believe about this religious place that here the twin children of Lord Rama and Sita were born. Sitabari has several kunds which include the names of Valmiki Kund, Sita Kund, Lakshman Kund, Surya Kund.                                         SURAJ KUND

Suraj Kund is named after Surya Dev. This place has a different religious significance due to which a large number of tourists visit here. Suraj Kund is surrounded by verandah from all sides. In one corner of the kund, a Shivling is installed where devotees worship. Suraj Kund people also immerse the ashes of their deceased relatives.
